I thought I’d Work For ***holes Forever Until I Gave This Up

Changing your life is serious sh*t

I dropped out of University twice because I’m a rare breed.

Ambitious? Sure. Capable? Oh yes. Tired? Very much so.

I was tired of trying and failing to build a career before I started properly.

I wasn’t cut out for the fight. And you need to be able to fight.

Every moment felt like it was do or die.

If I don’t get this internship, it’s over.

My expectations were always low, and any rejection would destroy me.

University and the following years were a fight for survival I wasn’t equipped to face.

At first, giving up felt like acceptance, and I thought I’d find peace with that decision.

My parent’s suggestion of working in a warehouse replayed in my head repeatedly.

So that’s what I did.

Until one day, I woke up to a new reality. I’d betrayed myself by giving up.

It was time to do the hard work and build myself back up.

Detached not stuck

For the longest time, I felt stuck in place.
